ok I guess I am not making my point. Two cars of teenagers were heading from
Santa Fe to a development about 20 miles away. Both drivers were sober and
had provisional licenses given to teenaged drivers here, which stipulate
that they cannot drive after midnight and can have no more than one
non-family in the car with them. Each car has I think four other kids in it.

At 12:05 AM or so these carloads of teenagers are driving east on Old Las
Vegas Highway, a narrow two-lane that runs parallel to I-25 when a westbound
Jeep driving on the wrong side of the road appears. The driver of the first
car tried to go around to her left but the Jeep notices he is in the wrong
lane and corrects that, and thereby broadsides her car anyway.

Both cars are totaled, everyone in the first car dies except the driver, and
the kids in the second car call 911. When police arrives the driver of the
Jeep is getting a motorcycle out of the back of his vehicle, presumably to
leave. He refuses a breathalyzer but his blood alcohol is later determined
to have been at least twice the presumptive level of intoxication, and this
some time after the accident.
OK so.... the driver of the first car is now determined to have trace
amounts of THC metabolites in *her* blood. What I find astonishing is the
number of comments on the stoty implying she was wrong to have been there
and look, see, she is no angel. Maybe not but would you not agree that the
accident and the deaths of this girl's friends were nonetheless caused by
*the drunk asshole friving on the wrong side of the road*???

I mean really.
