While I haven't looked at the actual rulebook lately, I believe the IOC doesn't allow transsexuals to compete as their assigned gender, I don't know if there's a ruling on hermaphrodites, but conceivably a hermaphrodite may not pass doping tests, based on gender and hormone levels (testosterone)
