Have fun!!! Do you play? Are you teaching him to make the reeds yourself? It takes lots of practice... Even though I'm a violinist, I had to learn to make a bassoon reed. (It was a challenge from a bassoonist who thought all string players needed this experience in their lives, so they could show pity...) Mine was beautiful, but unplayable---too thin. Oh well...
