Holy barf, it's like you've never read a history book. 100% of the time when government has power 2 things result: dicatatorship or bankruptcy. You seem to keep forgetting that every single shred of money (which = power) you give government today winds up in the hands of Dick Cheney to wield tomorrow. Government is a force for good when it is regulating private industry to ensure public good. It's like saying: "a throttle and an engine can co-exist ..." One is an engine which, without the throttle will burn itself out.
