Sam. As far as I know I'm the only person here who's had any contact with
the group. I am telling you that I did not see any signs of criminal
enterprise. Nobody told me to forge registration forms and the really
worried woman who came in with her two kid seemed glad that someone was
there to listen to her problem.

The voter registration effort was run by very young very white white
left-wingers from Maine and Michigan who didn't know a lot about
third-generation Hispanic poverty or even the differences between Mexican
and New Mexican culture. But they were trying to do something to help other
people and I give them credit for that, even though if they had read their
Alinsky they should have known that they place they could do this best was
in their own communities. But even patronizing and misguided help is help.
And there are not a lot of people helping the people that ACORN helps.

Let's say they right wing mob succeeds in putting ACORN out of business. Who
are they going to go after next, Catholic Charities?

And I will say it again. If events took place as Jerry says the video
portrays, there is no defense, none. But if we were supposed to be out there
promoting child prostitution, gee, musta missed the memo on that.

that's all.
