Yeah, I've heard of people using HadBrake to convert "rented" DVD's to
AppleTV-friendly format.  Then, they have it stored on hard drive and
they send movie back, and are able to watch it whenever they want.
Viola, instant movie library.

*I* would never do that, but I have heard of others doing it.
