Getting spit on by a random person walking down the street is provocative too. And carries about as much intellectual weight and the need to reassess you views. It reminds me of a TV Without Pity review of The Wire which said "Meet McNulty, he likes to start shit". Trolls are provocative, in fact, that is the point of trolling, to provoke. Just because something is provocative does not mean it is at all useful in any capacity other than generating a reaction.
