Like I told that state trooper: I'd rather be free than safe. I didn't unravel that "big brother" 3-post-thread for nothing, man. Meaning, I'd rather be really safe. If you get my drift. > What is wrong with the election process? The Bush/Gore deal was horrible man, objectively speaking. Sure sure, the prez is just a figurehead, and some old guy in a shanty somewhere is really running the show, but, well... think of our image-- we shouldn't make it so obvious. So then there's the whole 'lectoral college deal, but that's at least discussable, unlike the totally hackable--er, crackable voting machines, crappy voter purges, blah blah. Boo hoo. Yeah, nothing's really wrong with nothing. It's all a beautiful tapestry. Saying something is bad, isn't bad, if that makes sense. Like, you could say "powerful crypto libraries should be illegal", and I could say "screw that, man! Let's make society not care about privacy instead", and whom's to say who is right, really? Heck, there are some good arguments for being able to observe everyone all the time-- or at least any one, any time. Sell me on it man. I'm flexible, my ideas aren't set in stone. Not many of them, at least. Is this privacy stuff one? honestly yeah -- but I never say never. -- There comes a time in the seeker's life when he discovers that he is at once the lover and the beloved.
