Yeah. I hear ya. I don't actually read up on much of anything dealing with
religion as a whole, so when this came up I though it was interesting. This
dude is over the edge just like the rest of the people on the flip side of
the coin. As a whole, the reasons to justify actions goes into morals not
religion. But we gain many of our moral characteristics based on parts of
religions. I like the idea of a cultural Christian, you could replace
Christian with your religion. I take this as a more lenient interpretation.

I'm still not sure there isn't in fact a God, but as a whole until science
explains the Big Bang for lack of better term to describe it, I'm ok with
looking into other areas of spiritual enlightenment. It's the control of
energy inside yourself and through meditation that you find peace. Prayer in
itself, I still consider meditation, but It's performed differently and I
don't believe it has the same effect, belief in god isn't going to make you
rest easier every night, but exercise, diet, meditation does go a long way
to finding the path to enlightenment.

Over time we come to a more in depth understanding of ourselves, religion
does provide a good starting point to the inner growth of your mind and
soul. When they start taking things so literally as to state we're only
6,000 years old or what have you, I have issues with that part since science
tells us otherwise and as such, I try to focus on inner growth and the
things your mom tells you growing up. Respect others, don't steel, mind your
business etc...
