Richard Reid in his younger years in England lived a life of crime, spent time in jail where is converted to Islam, and had made several trips to Pakistan prior to 9/11. Adam Gahdan moved to Pakistan in 1998. John Walker Lindh moved to Afghanistan in March 2001, before the 9/11 attacks. So what's you point? Prior to 9/11 ALL of these guys fit the profile of a potential terrorist or were already terrorists.
