Surprisingly this is the first one I've seen from you that I don't like. Maybe your heart's not in it?
It seems like a mash of different design ideas. Did the client already have these colours as part of their branding? If so I'm guessing they're redskins fans? I say drop the robins egg blue. Also the three pics on the bottom, the right one has a 2 or 3px white stroke while the others do not. I'd say drop the white/pink gradient background. It makes the text hard to read and seems to battle with the roundy tab boxes for my attention. If you're just looking to jazz up "Featured Properties" a bit maybe a little decorative squiggle on each side of the "Featured Properties" text. Or some middots or something. I like the squiggle behind the "Welcome to our internets" text block, but less opacity would help the text stand out a bit. I find it hard to read because I'm distracted. I'd say shrink the logo by at least 50% and in turn shrink the header by about the same. I'd add more space under the "Salisbury Housing" text and the site addy. Aside from sizing I really think you should revisit the header design. To me the colours seem to struggle with those of the burgandy sub-header. I like the header, just not with that logo and not on this site. The puffy clouds and the gradients are sweet, I envision them as a new cell phone company or social networking site or blog template or tumblr theme or something. I think if you're determined to stick with the blues and the burgandy you should maybe wash out the burgandy in the same manner as the blue, so they are both pastel-ish. Or reverse it and make the blue as bold as the burgandy. No... don't do that. Just typing it made me throw up in my mouth a little bit. Whew. That's a lot. Usually I just say "sweet." That's gotta tell you something. much love On Fri, Feb 5, 2010 at 5:59 PM, Tony <[email protected]> wrote: > > hi there. > > please hammer away > > http://www.salisburyhousing.com/v2/ > > thanks > tw > > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Want to reach the ColdFusion community with something they want?
