The first week we were in Raleigh, my wife's car was broken into and they
stole the faceplate off of her stereo....

A few weeks later, my driver's side window was smashed and they rummaged
through the car and took about $1.50 in change that I had in there, cost me
about $200 to replace the window...

Bummer. When I first lived in DC, I was working on Capitol Hill. One
rainy day I went out to my car on the street after work only to find
that someone had smashed my window and stolen my umbrella out of the
back seat.
