Set your site up on Google webmasters tools and use the stats from
that to tell you what keywords are being searched for, clicked
through, and applied to your site. If you are getting a lot of clicks
on a keyword, then an ad with that keyword is not a top priority. You
might even want to assign an ad for that keyword to the second and
subsequent search result pages. If you are getting a lot of search
results for a keyword but few clicks, place ads on that page to
attract people. You may also want to look at the description being
displayed to see if it's 'attractive'. If Google associates a keyword
with your site but your not seeing it on the search or click results,
decide if it's a keyword you want to use to get sales and create an ad
for it.
And on, and on, and on, and on. :)
