Used it, its very good and very powerful. and I don't like it. Generally it does the same thing as SAS, SPSS or MiniTab, but it takes a lot more effort. I don't want to have to do the amount of programming required to get relatively the same output as you get in the other stats programs I mentioned. Moreover, while a 10,000 foot view of matrix algebra is good for stats, having to code the individual matrices is overkill, as what you have to do with R.
If you can swing it get one of the commercial packages. SPSS is very good. Either that or talk to some of us who may have SPSS etc on their machines. I think Dana may have a copy. larry On Mon, Mar 8, 2010 at 2:20 PM, Tony <[email protected]> wrote: > > has anyone ever heard of this thing called "R" used it? liked it? hated it? > > http://www.r-project.org/ > > thanks! > tony > > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Want to reach the ColdFusion community with something they want?
