Been playing red alert 3 on my new rig which is running win 7 64. Got
through a few missions, but now everytime I try to load my saved game, the
system locks. First I can't click anything, then the mouse cursor won't
move. Music plays in background. So I contact EA support and got this:

I apologize for the inconvenience and the delay caused. I have checked the
system information provided by you. I would like to inform you that the game
is not compatible with the 64 bit operating system. The game may run but the
performance is not guaranteed. It is not recommended to run the game on 64
bit. I would suggest you to please try running the game on a 32 bit machine.

I know there is a windows xp mode you can download, but what about a 32 bit
mode? Is this possible?

Not a big deal, too busy to play games nowadays, but I did pay for it, and
would like it to work.

Should I play with a virtual machine? My understanding is they don't
support 3d acceleration so I would lose my 5770 for the game.

Thanks!
