I just read a post yesterday about how to talk to bigots.
It said you need to be more understanding, they are tools and and just
don't know any better. They're also really nice people, they're just
scared. So what you do is find something they like and talk about
that. Say for example you know someone doesn't like Bush, easy, don't
talk about him. Talk about how smart and articulate Obama is, talk
about beer, music or even knitting. It's really that simple.

Me, I have thick skin, I like to call them out, force them to argue
their position until they realize it has no merit, then get frustrated
and call me a shithead or talk about my tinfoil hat. That's the
equivalent of them looking lost and stomping out of the room, but
usually they just slink away for a day or so.

Thanks for the post, I read it.
