I grew up in Gwinnett County, which covers the northern part of this district. I hated it so bad I left high school one year early just to get away. The southern part of the district covers Dekalb county, which is notorious for, among other things, having a new elected sheriff assassinated by his opponent, the incumbent sheriff. The demographics of the area are interesting. It was all-white bedroom communities to Atlanta, then went solidly black during the white flight of the 60s and 70s, then gentrified in the 80s and 90s.
