ah...yeah...20 years ;-)  Nothing wrong with that...it was an informative
correction.  I didn't realize they changed assault weapons.  When I was in
they were just switching from the old Willy's jeep to the hmmv's...I
remember having to take out platoon's jeep to the motor pool to get turned
in.  I had very limited experience using a stick and left about a 40 ft
black mark from the tires when i took off heheheh. Luckily the hummers were
automatic.  I did actually manage to get a hummer stuck...which is a next to
impossible task as these things are off-road monsters.    I was driving my
commander and he insisted that we park it in a certain area, which was
muddy, despite my insistence in parking a little higher uphill where there
was grass.  We ended up sinking in the mud over the bottom of the doorway
and shorted out the state in the mud and water.   Just as i was leaving, we
were getting ready to transition from the M113's to the Bradley's...I think
that took place a few months after I ETS'd.
