The NE has had some success in breaking infidelity and marital discord stories. They were the first to report on: Jessie Jackson's love child John Edwards' affair and love child Mel Gibson's divorce Billy Joel's divorce Tiger Woods affairs and so on They were the first to report Rush Limbaugh was addicted to pain killers and that OJ Simpson was writing his book: If I Did It. That aside, the National Enquirer has been sued and lost many times for some of its stories on celebrities.
