I've been taught that if I'm ever arrested I should say only one word to the cops whether I'm innocent or not. That word is "Lawyer". If the cops are being obstinate you can add a now to it. The guy who taught me that is a cop so I consider it good advice. Probably I'd request a lawyer before they read me my rights.
