Wow, those folk are idiots. The US tried very hard not to get involved.
There were lots of movements for just that purpose, to stay out of a war
that "isn't ours." IIRC there was even a Neutrality Act signed into law in
the late 30's to keep America out of wars even from a trade perspective. Of
course Pearl Harbour changed all that.
