Umpire Jim Joyce's contrite, upfront, and heartfelt apology has turned him
from a villain, into a sympathetic figure. He's a reminder that all people
make mistakes, but if they man up and admit them, without one of those
bullshit fake apologies we see from athletes all the time, people will not
only forgive them....but applaud them for it.

Matt Lauer said he's going to use Joyce as an example to teach his kids how
to apologize when they make a mistake.
