This was a bunch of young soldiers hyped up the excitement of taking the ship who were ordered into a clearly unsafe situation and who opened fire because they felt threatened once the first guy down the ropes was attacked. Operational control when out the window and it became a melee. Then instead of taking the ship, it was "get the bastards who are hurting our guys." At least that my determination based on viewing all the videos.
