It could be...like I said...I wish they had a better pic of that which showed his hand for context. I have seen quite a few combat knives that have big handles and smaller blades...the serrations look a bit too severe for a kitchen knife, unless maybe that would be for cutting through fish bone while at sea maybe?

To me, the handle looks quite large when compared to his thumb. But, it also appears as if the blade may be disproportionately small compared to how big the handle appears.
