Stephen, I don't know if it's too early in the recovery process, but I thought I'd offer this idea anyway...
If you wouldn't mind posting an address, I'm sure cf-community members would love to send snail-mail get well cards. Members of another list I belong to did this for a member's daughter who was ill for an extended period of time. She just loved receiving cards from all over the world. Anyway, it's just a thought.
