Five songs to sum up the 80's? That's kind of hard to do it was so broad.

Early 80's, Mid 80's, Late 80's, the different styles of music...

For me personally is still hard.

The Trooper - Iron Maiden
Sweet Sister Mary - Quensryche
Tom Sawyer - Rush
Welcome to the Jungle - Guns and Roses
You've Got Another Thing Comin' - Judas Priest

Ask me tomorrow and it will be 5 different ones...

Rick

Spent most of the decade playing music in a bluegrass band, and
producing albums for acoustic/folk performers, so I rarely listened to
pop or rock radio in the 80s.

However, the top five most played 80s pop songs from iPod are:

Don Henley: Boys of Summer
Bonnie Raitt: Nobody's Girl
Foreigner: I Want to Know What Love Is
Elton John: I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues
U2: Pride (In the Name of Love) (cool cut of this on Dierks Bentley's
new album - a duet with Del McCoury)
