Great story. Thanks for passing it along.

Tragic. I could not find a more perfect word.

I had no idea it was that bad in Europe. I am aware of my country's failings
in that regard, but I truly believe we are getting better as a culture and
as a country.

First, I do not understand purposefully psychologically hurting another
human being over a sporting match. Why on earth would people do that?

Second, I just don't get racism. I can maybe imagine discomfort or dislike
for people not like very you (in a xenophobic way, where different is
uncomforatble), but cannot imagine having it rise to actual hatred. And I do
not get at all how anyone from any given race can feel racially or
genetically superior to another race. There are enough examples of people
who are smarter, stronger, faster, funnier, more talented, more honorable,
more attractive than you are in any other race, how could anyone maintain
such a thought? I truly don't understand it.

Why would any fan not want Thierry on their team?

Thank God for our diversity.

All I can do is fall back on a familiar French phrase, Viva la Difference!
