That may be true in those sports...but those are not sports that interest me
as far as watching...doing them is a different story... Most of this is I
just don't like to watch sports on TV. I wouldn't mind going to games live,
but I am more of a participatory kinda guy. Watching sports reminds me of
what I can no longer do due to my disabilities so I just avoid them all
together. I really get no enjoyment watching them. Some of the main sports
just really turn me off because of their crass commercialism where it seems
that whoever gets the best sponsor is more important than the game. When I
see the AT&T Bowl or something like Comiskey park in Chicago changed to US
Cellular Field (They are also talking about renaming Wrigley Field to the
highest bidder)...to me, that tells me that sports are dead.

The main sports have been more about money and greed rather than
sportsmanship and competition for a long time. I stopped being a football
fan when Walter Payton retired from the Bears. Baseball, while never really
a big fan of watching it (though I played baseball for years as a kid in
Little League), really lost me when they went on strike. To me, that was a
smack in the face to every working American who struggles with low pay and
crappy insurance. They gall they had to complain that with all the money
they make (and I don't think athletes should get paid as much as they
do...their jobs are WAY overvalued) and then strike because their pretty
awesome insurance plans weren't good enough. Fuck them. Hockey was always
an on and off thing for me...yeah I can get into hockey, but I really have
to be in the mood...better yet if I see it live.

You talking about Congress or Sports?

You can continue to watch Snowboarding, Freeskiing, Skateboarding. While
there are those with the big sponsor contracts everyone continues to push
the limits of what can be done on the snow and street ;-)
