There's an additional Windows component that you can choose to install with the operating system (Windows 2000 Professional) that's called the Microsoft Script Debugger. I beleive that it will do what you need it to. Once installed, if there is a script error, windows will prompt you to cancel or debug.
To install, you'll need the original Win2k Pro CD and then go to add/remove programs -> Add remove Windows Components -> it should be down at the bottom of the list. I'm using XP Pro so I can't verify this. I'm relying on my own tools at this job. Tobe's suggestion of DW is an interesting one and one I may have to try out. Of course, I've only got another 5 weeks here so it might not be worth it to get into DW now that the projects basically over for me. Its just that NS was simple and direct with its JS debugging and the schmuck had to screw it up.
