I have heard almost the same thing except that he was just shopping a huge
script around one that chronicled the rise and fall of the Sith Lord Darth
Vader. What eventually became Star Wars, Episode 4 was cut from somewhere in
the middle.

Personal gripe about Star Wars II: Electric Bugaloo...

I understand George being "god" and all, but doesn't anybody in his
organization have the balls to stand up and say, "George, this cutesy 3PO/R2
crap has got to go!" 'What a drag' indeed. I enjoy 3PO and R2, but what
started as clever comic relief has morphed into flat out vaudvillian
schtick...yawn...groan

/Personal gripe
