>So, if you get pulled over by a police officer for a traffic violation you will not answer any of his questions unless you have your lawyer with you?
Here's how that conversation would go: "Do you know how fast you were going?" "Why don't you tell me?" I'd be polite and hand over my ID, but no, I wouldn't answer their questions. >Either a) you are the world's best driver (and are not afraid of being pulled over) or b) you have more free time than this guy. I've been pulled over twice in the last ten years. Both times it was because I had tail lights out that I didn't know about. The cops pointed them out, I promised to fix them first chance I got, and we both went about our business. Honestly it's not that difficult to just follow the rules of the road. The only other time I've been pulled over since moving out of my parents house at 18 I was handed a $300 ticket for having snow on my back window during a blizzard and then watched the cop lie in court to stick me with it, which may explain my views on this matter somewhat. > I guess 'innocent until proven guilty' only covers those who are suspected of having committed a crime but not those who would arrest those suspects? Pretty much, yeah. The difference is that they are, at worst, slightly inconvenienced by the person in danger of being arrested assuming they're a bad cop. Reverse it and there's the danger of jail time. Interestingly enough I've been told that any lawyer worth their salt will tell you to assume that a cop will try to hang you with anything you say. I was told this by a cop who happens to be a friend of mine. >Funny how it seems OK to judge an entire group of people based on the words and actions of a few for some groups, like law enforcement and Tea Party members, but not for other groups, like those who want to build an Islam cultural center and mosque near Ground Zero. Meh, Tea Party doesn't matter and I say let them build their mosque whereever they want. It'll have the opposite effect that they're going for, but they've got to be free to make that mistake or America stands for nothing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology-Michael-Dinowitz/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:327472 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/unsubscribe.cfm
