let me put it this way when I left the Tory party in Canada was slightly to the left of the Republicans under Bob Dole. Now, even though the Conservatives, and Harper, are Bush and Republican wannabes, the republicans are extremely to the right of the Conservative Party of Canada. That is in spite of the fact that they merged with the right wing Reform Party of Canada several years ago.
