> ...and there is rarely added value just for 'buying American'. And that's what this discussion really comes down to. Value for who? Most people consider the value to themselves, but what about the value of the feeling of knowing that you're helping an American business stay afloat and keeping people employed. That is valuable to society as a whole, of which you are part, therefore it should be valuable to you too.
That is the logical way of thinking about it, but you, I, and pretty much everyone else is still going to go to Walmart and see the same thing or better for 15-20% less and buy it there instead because we're looking out for ourselves first. Then we see articles and hear the talking heads go on and on about lost jobs and we all look to the Government to save us. South Park really hit this point home with their episode on the topic a few years back. We, the consumers, deserve just as much blame as the corporations and the unions. -Justin ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology-Michael-Dinowitz/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:328695 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/unsubscribe.cfm
