And that's what this discussion really comes down to.  Value for who?  Most
people consider the value to themselves, but what about the value of the
feeling of knowing that you're helping an American business stay afloat and
keeping people employed.  That is valuable to society as a whole, of which
you are part, therefore it should be valuable to you too.

That is the logical way of thinking about it, but you, I, and pretty much
everyone else is still going to go to Walmart and see the same thing or
better for 15-20% less and buy it there instead because we're looking out
for ourselves first.  Then we see articles and hear the talking heads go on
and on about lost jobs and we all look to the Government to save us.  South
Park really hit this point home with their episode on the topic a few years
back.  We, the consumers, deserve just as much blame as the corporations and
the unions.
