Ha - there's no such thing as an "American" accent <g> - there are many flavors of
American Accent.

I remember going to Hawaii and someone there told me that I had a "Long Island" accent
which completely threw me because, although I
now live on Long Island, I grew up in Brooklyn and Queens until I was 11. And, I
don't say "Lawn Guyland" like many other natives
here.

I also remember working in Boston once and someone there with a heavy Boston accent
told me that I was the one with the accent and
not him <g>.

I don't know - whenever I watch national news programs the commentators don't sound
like they have accents to me so I must be in the
majority :-)

Howie
