The prominent voices of dissent I heard during the Bush years said
that Bush (and a Republican lead Congress) was destroying the country
by slashing taxes while increasing spending, starting at least one if
not two unwise and possibly illegal wars including grand plans for
permanent presence in Iraq, a heavy emphasis on deregulation and
massively increasing the size and intrusiveness of the domestic
security apparatus and trying to induce a state of constant fear.

Obama has continued several parts of that because politicians like
power. If they settle in and become the new norm, then yes, I'd say
that Bush has really changed America for the worse. Does that sound
hysterical like the repeated calls of Obama as a muslim kenyan
socialist?
