I call bullshit. I have not been around as long as others, but I
cannot recall a time where one of the regulars made "blatant
disparaging racial remarks". There may have been the odd time where
someone "new" was out of line, but trust me, with those who frequent
this list, myself included, comments like what you describe are not
tolerated here.

In my 20+ plus years in EMS I have seen attacks that were racially
motivated, similar, but not as extreme, to what you described earlier.
I have seen these attacks perpetrated by white against non-whites,
non-whites against whites, one group of whites against another group
of whites ("rednecks" against Jews), one group of non-whites against
another group of non-whites (African American against Arab - pre and
post 9/11). As Eric said, you do not need to experience racism to
understand it is wrong. You do not need to hear stories of the
atrocities human are capable of against other humans to understand its
its impact.

A good start would be to stop making blanket statements like 'America
is obsessed with race and color.' In my mind, you are not helping to
make your point by exhibiting the behavior you are railing against.
