It takes 5 years to be eligible. I don't think that in unreasonable,
but would not be opposed to reducing that.

If we allow non-citizens the right to vote, then why even bother
having a citizenship?

The article mentions one man who has been here for 18 years and is
still not a citizen. In 13 years, he could not find the time or money
to begin the citizenship process? He found a way here, but could nto
find a way to become a citizen once he got here? If it meant that much
to me, I would find a way.

They do have a voice, if they so choose. They can become citizens.

Where will it end. Next, they will make the same argument to be able
to vote for county elections, then state and national elections.
