/Close Gaelic Hurling is like lacrosse & field hockey rolled into one.
Played on a pitch similar to rugby with a ball about the size of a baseball. The ball is carried on the end of a flat bat and pushed into the air swatted mid-stride to pass. No pads, helmets are optional. Full-on body checks, slide tackles, etc. are the rule of the day. Hurling's the sport I throw down against hockey when hockey fans get all in-the-face about how wimpy baseball/football is... http://www.google.com/images?q=gaelic+hurling&hl=en&prmd=iv&source=lnms&tbs=isch:1&ei=3XLYTNXFH4ubOr7D1e8J&sa=X&oi=mode_link&ct=mode&ved=0CAsQ_AU&biw=1280&bih=896 On Mon, Nov 8, 2010 at 1:47 PM, Jerry Johnson <[email protected]> wrote: > > Is Gaelic Hurling when you drink too much Irish Ale? > > I didn't realize that was a sport! > > > On Mon, Nov 8, 2010 at 4:36 PM, William Bowen <[email protected]>wrote: > >> >> > oh, now you're spewin hate mister!
