So I am in a dilemma. I have been short points on getting promoted to
Staff Sergeant but due to our brigades training requirements prior to
our deployment we have been out in the field training for a few months
off and on, usually only a weekend in between. So I decided to do some
correspondence courses to get more promotion points so I can make it in
January. After going through all of the classes I have decided to take
the courses for .NET (I have already completed all of the CF courses a
couple years ago). Since I still know CF and .NET I can jump right into
the tests and avoid the hundreds of hours that would normally be
required to actually do the courses. So, even though I have no desire to
ever code again, I find that I have to fall back on my knowledge of
coding in order to move up in the Army. Ironic since I am an infantryman
and will never use any type of coding skills in my job. Hah.
