On monday morning, my wife is scheduled to have surgery. She has what the doctors believe to be a cyst on her ovary and the surgery is to have it removed. Its possible that it may not be a cyst but rather some kind of other mass (like cancer) as the cyst has been growing when the doctors thought it would 'shrink' and there were some other findings in a recent ultrasound that could mean it is something else (like cancer)
I know that this is a fairly routine surgery (well, as routine as surgery can get), but given all the shit that has happened to us this year, I am pretty nervous. Not only about potential complications, but also the fact that it may not be a cyst and that what is scheduled to be a lapryscopic procedure may turn out to be a bit more invasive.
