The bucket list: things you want to do before you kick the bucket. My heart hurts every day, so I figure if I am going do the bucket list, I better do it now.
Mostly for the last few months, it has been about music. Amazing concerts - David Wilcox, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Gretchen Peters, Eliza Gilkyson, and numerous others. Last Monday night, I saw Leonard Cohen, in the most perfect musical experience ever. To finish the year, we're going a road trip. The doctors don't want me to fly, so we're driving across country - slowly - and doing a bunch of bucket list stuff along the way. Short days for the most part...Vegas, Grand Canyon, Santa Fe, Eureka Springs, Nashville. The Nashville stop is for two days of musical wonderment at the Bluebird: Gretchen Peters, Janis Ian, Craig Carothers and Tony Arata the first night, then Barry Walsh, Skip Ewing and a group of friends for a Christmas concert. South to Atlanta for a multi-day visit with the family, then on to Panama City Beach (a sentimental stop), then finally my fulfilling my life-long dream to visit New Orleans. We're going to visit more friends and family as we travel back west, hitting several towns in Texas and Arizona, as yet undecided as to the exact route, but I definitely want to see Sedona again.
