They had hundreds of cars and other vehicles (even a couple of city busses) stuck on Lake Shore Drive. Firemen started on both ends and worked their way to the middle to rescue people stranded in their cars. Not only did they have whiteout conditions with the snow, the winds were whipping up waves on the lake cause an icy spray that was adding to the horrid conditions last night.
