Uh, which "lots" of members of the GOP found it offensive? As soon as the language got picked up and hit the airwaves, the whole GOP and the pro-life groups went suddenly silent. Perhaps I missed the outrage from within their own caucus, I'd be happy to be shown wrong on this matter. I'd also point out, however, that there were Democratic co-sponsors of the bill, so it isn't like it is just a matter of the GOP legislators being evil, there are plenty of Democrats on that side too. Also, even removing the "forcible rape" language and replacing it with language from the Hyde Amendment: still evil.
