What I've learned over the last 2 years is that 2 different presidents from
TOTALLY different backgrounds have pursued the EXACT SAME policies.

I get you think there's this huge difference

However for me, if I look at Bush spending vs. Obama spending; Bush foreign
policy vs. Obama foreign policy there's literally no difference besides some
wording and marketing collateral.

That scares me because it means:

(1.) Either our system of government is so broken that no matter who's
elected they have no choice but status quo sold with different marketing, or

(2.) The underlying driving forces are so horribly insane that no matter
what you think, you really can only do what's being done.

If for no other reason than Afghanistan alone I think it's the latter
choice. There's just absolutely no reason for Obama to stay in Afghanistan
- no win whatsoever - other than something we don't know.

Take Guantanamo - Obama has fired up trials again. There's no win in that
for him unless, again, there's something we don't know.

Saatchi & Saatchi came up with the marketing concept of "lovemarks". It's
the future of brands, requiring this:
MysteryGreat stories: past, present and future; taps into dreams,
myths and icons;
and inspirationSensualitySound, sight, smell, touch, and taste
IntimacyCommitment,
empathy, and passionClearly political parties have tapped into this with
people - they've lovemarked them.

I wish I believed in a brand like that because it would make me feel better.

When very different people do very similar things it usually means trouble.
