I think this issue can be easily handled through a Gruss-like decision list. To decide to whether or not the list is nastier than it used to be, we can break it down to 3 (and only 3) possibilities:
1. CF-Community was much more nasty in 2000 because aliens were invading our pre-schools and turning our children into flesh eating pirates. Thus, preoccupied with their own safety, posters were foul tempered when it came time to discuss the facts of the day. 2. CF-Community was not nasty at all in 2000 because the government was mixing Xanax into our water supplies giving the entire population a calmer yet distorted view of everything that was discussed. 3. CF-Community is only 12 days old*. Since aliens don't exist and our government never put Xanax in the water, its obvious that CF-Community didn't exist in 2000 since thats the only *possible *answer left. And since the forum is only 12 days old, its safe to say that this is both the nastiest and friendliest the list has ever been. * Contrary evidence that is not in my list will be ignored because its not in my list so It cannot be true.
