I know the folks you are talking about and I'll keep my comments down.....

I think it has a lot to do with those folks being of the "Big Iron" mind
set. AS400s can do nything any way they want, so why use good programming
techniques?

Subject: Why? Why?

<Rant Alert!!!>

We as a IT group aggreed it would be best coming from ColdFusion or MS SQL
we would only use Stored Procedures on the AS400 to insert or update.

Why when I am asked to do a insert on the AS400 and in fact do a 11 inserts
which could be 2 stored procedures or even 1 my co-employee does not think
anything is wrong with this. We are inserting the Header then the Line
items on an order into a table on the AS400. Where I could send all the
info in 1 or 2 Stored Procedures. I bring this up with my co-employee he
says oh that is no big deal we will worry about it if it comes up to be a
resource problem.

Why do we even make Policies if we continue to break them...

</Rant Alert!!!>

Sorry, I am NUTS, Crazy... is it ME that is wrong?

Thanks for reading,
Nathan
