I have two ex-co-workers with some language quirks.

One is from RI, and speaks Italian as well as English.
She says open and close the lights, instead of turn them on or off. Of course, on her 
it's cute.

Another guy refuses (and I think as actually incapable) of allowing two words to be 
joined together if they end/start with the same letter.

If I create a variable name, file name  or directory (such as CriminalLaw), it will be 
immediately changed to CriminaLaw, or even worse, renamed something like BadThingsLaw.

I still haven't figured that one out.

You could open side, or open down depending on the situation, no?
