I'm all for that but the American economy isn't. American aid to Israel is mostly in the form of 'vouchers' which Israel have to spend on American products - military equipment, etc. This is bad for Israel for a number of reasons: 1. Stunts and destroys Israel's own industries 2. Gives the enemies of Israel something to complain about 3. Forces Israel to depend on American equipment rather than shopping around for the best 4. Limits many things that Israel can do with the equipment
Another unfortunate result of cutting off aid to the Palestinians is that their entire government will collapse. It is only foreign aid that keeps them afloat. Aid that in most cases is not accounted for so when the Palestinians give a 'salary' to all Palestinians in Israeli jails for 'resistance' activities (terrorist attacks, etc.), it's not flagged by America or any donors. It should be noted that the donor nations are mainly America and European nations. There is very little Arab money actually being given to the Palestinians. A lot promised, but little delivered. As an aside, I read recently that the country that is getting the most foreign aid from America is currently Pakistan with a huge amount being slated for countries like Egypt. I'm hoping that all of this aid will be watched, tracked, and accounted for.
