And for the purposes of figuring out if this is regressive plan, since both rich and poor could possibly exempt mortgages, that has to be discounted in the calculation. In short, I hope you now see - with the math - that not only is the FairTax not fair, it's just plain a ridiculous idea. I'm with you: this tax system sucks.
