It's miss conceptions all over the place. As an example, diet soda is
seriously bad for you.

Aspartame, (half of which - aspartic acid  - targets the same receptors as
glutamate, and can actually convert into glutamate in the body) has been
shown to increase blood sugar in experiments.  Studies in humans showed that
those who drank diet sodas with aspartame as opposed to those who avoided
diet sodas  had 500% larger waistlines. It appears that diet sodas are aptly
named - after you drink them you WILL need to be on a diet.
